Volvo C40 Recharge

Latest Update: Volvo C40 Recharge has been launched in India, and its deliveries have also started.

Price: The electric coupe-SUV is priced at Rs 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Variants: The C40 Recharge is being offered in a single fully-loaded variant.

Colours: Customers can buy it in six colour options: Crystal White, Onyx Black, Fusion Red, Cloud Blue, Sage Green, and Fjord Blue.

Seating Capacity: It’s a 5-seater electric SUV-coupe.

Electric Motor, Battery and Range: It gets the same 78kWh battery pack as the XC40 Recharge, but offers a higher WLTP-claimed range of 530km. The unit is mated to an all-wheel drive (AWD) dual electric motor setup which makes 408PS and 660Nm. It can run from 0 to 100kmph in 4.7 seconds.

Charging: Volvo’s coupe-styled electric SUV supports up to 150kW of DC fast charging that can juice up the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 27 minutes.

Features: Features onboard the C40 Recharge includes a vertically oriented 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google Android OS-powered built-in apps and services and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. It is also equipped with electrically adjustable front seats (with heated and cooling function), dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof and a premium Harman Kardon sound system.

Safety: On the safety front, Volvo’s electric SUV comes with seven airbags, hill hold and descent control, and 360-degree camera. The Volvo C40 Recharge also gets a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) which includes adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance and mitigation for front, lane keeping aid, blind spot monitoring with cross traffic alert for both front and rear.

Rivals: The Volvo C40 Recharge can be regarded as an alternative to the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, BMW i4 and its sibling, the XC40 Recharge.
