Design, feature, and standard improvements between the 2024 Maruti Swift and the present Swift
New-gen Maruti Swift is anticipated to gain feature and visual upgrades over the current model, while specifications have not yet been made public.
Prior to the fourth generation Swift’s planned world premiere at the Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo later this month, Suzuki has revealed photos of the vehicle. It’s anticipated that the hatchback would finally reach the Indian market sometime in 2019. Recent visual evidence points to several model alterations.
Let’s examine some of the notable improvements made to the current Swift over the impending fourth-generation Swift.
Maruti Swift 2024 against the present Swift: Design
Suzuki hasn’t changed the Swift’s main design, but minor aesthetic improvements have made the new model stand out from the previous one. The most noticeable of these is a whole new blacked-out grille with mesh-like inlays on the front fascia, which has been redesigned. An air dam with a thin profile and chrome trim is housed in the reprofiled front bumper.
The headlights include a new L-shaped LED DRL and are more streamlined. Just above the grille, the Suzuki emblem has been moved, and the bonnet has seen a modest change in design. New alloy wheel designs and a more typical location for the rear door handles beneath the window sills are two changes to the side profile.
The rear bumper has been reprofiled to house reflectors covered in a silver accent, and the taillights now have new pixelated LED design. The new-generation Swift is further contextualized with hybrid insignia on the front fenders and tailgate. The new flat clamshell hood of the 2024 Swift, which resembles an SUV, is another noteworthy modification.
Current Swift vs. 2024 Maruti Swift: Interiors & Features
The inside of the forthcoming Swift has more noticeable improvements, such as a standalone touchscreen infotainment display on the dashboard. The 2024 Swift idea receives a well-known interior color scheme of black and grey, similar to Baleno, Fronx, and Brezza. Even the steering wheel and toggle switches for the HVAC settings have an appearance that is reminiscent of the aforementioned models. A dual-tone black and white look is applied to the dashboard.
The new Swift sports a wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay infotainment system with a 9-inch touchscreen, among other goodies. The black-covered ORVMs with cameras suggest that the 2017 Swift will come with a blind-spot monitor.
Although it is doubtful to expect these features in the India-spec vehicle, the fourth-generation Swift may benefit from cutting-edge safety technologies like autonomous brake aid, automated high beam help, driver monitoring system, and collision mitigation braking system.
Current Maruti Swift vs. 2024 Swift: Engine specifications
However, it is believed that the 1.2-liter Dual-jet VVT naturally aspirated petrol engine would continue in the India-spec Swift. It will be mated with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT. The 1.4-liter Boosterjet turbocharged gasoline engine and a 48V hybrid system are most likely to make up the Swift’s powertrain in the worldwide specification.
