Future SUVs in India 🇮🇳 by 2024

The Indian automobile industry reports that the country’s need for SUVs is growing. Despite the large range of SUV models available, automakers continue to introduce newer models. Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, which is based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, is the product of yet another joint venture between Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. Like the Baleno-Glanza collaboration, the Taisor will have some minor cosmetic changes made to it. It is anticipated that the Fronx’s 1.2-liter four-cylinder and 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine options will be carried over to the Taisor. The Toyota version, like the Maruti version, might potentially come with a CNG version that is mated to a 1.2-liter gasoline engine. On April 3, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor is expected to go on sale in India.

Mahindra XUV300 Facelift

Mahindra is getting ready to introduce the redesigned XUV300 to the Indian market. It’s expected that the next iteration of the sub-4-meter SUV will have notable front and rear styling improvements. There are rumors that the 1.5-liter diesel and 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engines will remain the same, but the turbo-petrol version might get a new torque converter automatic gearbox.

Tata Curvv EV

Recently, the production-ready Tata Curvv made its debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Tata is preparing to release the Curvv SUV in electric form in the second quarter of FY2025, which runs from July to September 2024. Although there are currently few specific technical details available, the electric version is expected to have a range of 450–500 km and is constructed on the same platform as the Nexon. When the Tata Curvv EV debuts, it will compete with vehicles like the Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV, and even its own sibling, the Nexon EV, although it will not have any direct rivals in this market.

Force Gurkha 5-Door

The Gurkha 5-door’s first teaser was released by Force Motors, signaling the car’s impending national release. The Gurkha 5-door prototype was shown off with a new shift-on-the-fly 4WD knob that was positioned on the center console, right next to the driver’s seat. The Gurkha 5-door is probably going to keep the same 2.6-liter diesel engine from its 3-door sibling, even with the planned updates.

Mahindra Thar 5-Door

The Mahindra Thar 5-door is slated for release in the middle of this year. Anticipated enhancements from the Thar 3-door variant include 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, an expanded infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, and an electric sunroof. It is expected that the vehicle will be available with either 4WD or 2WD and the same 2.0-liter gasoline and 2.2-liter diesel engine options as its predecessor.
