Hyundai’s long and highly successful run has led to the arrival of its subsidiary Kia in India in 2019. The Korean automaker achieved instant success with its first vehicle, the Kia Seltos, and its popularity has grown by leaps and bounds since then. Kia usually outsells other established foreign carmakers in India, such as Honda and Toyota, despite having only four models on the market. In October 2023, 24,351 Kia vehicles were sold, representing a 4% year-on-year increase. Kia recently facelifted its best-selling vehicle, the Seltos, and this has had a significant impact, increasing Seltos sales by a significant margin.
