Latest Update: The Maruti Grand Vitara is being offered with savings of up to Rs 1.02 lakh this March.

Price: Maruti has priced it between Rs 10.80 lakh and Rs 20.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Variants: It can be had in six broad variants: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Zeta+, Alpha and Alpha+. The plus (+) trims are available with the strong-hybrid powertrain option. The manual variants of the Delta and Zeta trims are now available with a factory-fitted CNG option.

Colour Options: Maruti offers seven monotones and three dual-tone shades for the Vitara: Nexa Blue, Luxe Beige, Opulent Red, Chestnut Brown, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Pearl Midnight Black, Opulent Red with midnight black roof, Arctic with midnight black roof and Splendid Silver with midnight black roof.

Seating Capacity: It can accommodate up to five passengers.

Engines And Transmission: The Maruti Grand Vitara comes with the same engine options as the Toyota Hyryder: a 1.5-litre petrol mild-hybrid unit and a 1.5-litre petrol strong-hybrid unit producing 103 PS and 137 PS, respectively. The latter has self-charging technology as well as three driving modes: petrol, hybrid, and pure EV.

The CNG variants use the 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine but with a reduced output of 93 PS and 122 Nm. They are only offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The mild-hybrid unit is mated to a 5-speed manual or an optional 6-speed automatic transmission, and the strong-hybrid is only offered with an e-CVT gearbox. All-wheel drive is only offered on the top-spec mild-hybrid manual variant.

Features: It comes with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver display, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats and a heads-up display.

Safety: Its safety kit includes up to six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It also gets a 360-degree camera, hill-descent control and ISOFIX child-seat anchors.

Rivals: The Maruti Grand Vitara locks horns with the Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Toyota Hyryder and Citroen C3 Aircross. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic can also be considered a rugged alternative.
