Price: The GLA is priced from Rs 46.50 lakh and Rs 50.50 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).

Variants: It can be had in four trims: GLA 200, GLA 220d, GLA 220d 4MATIC and AMG GLA 35 4MATIC.

Engine and Transmission: The GLA comes with three engines: a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol mild-hybrid (165PS/250Nm), a 2.0-litre diesel (192PS/400Nm), and a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol (306PS/400Nm). The turbo-petrol unit is only offered on the GLA 35 AMG 4MATIC variant. The engine-wise gearbox options are:

• 1.3-litre turbo-petrol: seven-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic)
• 2.0-litre diesel: eight-speed AT
• 2.0-litre turbo-petrol: nine-speed AT

The three powertrains get the following drivetrains:

• GLA 200: Front-wheel drive
• GLA 220d: Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive
• GLA 35 AMG: All-wheel drive

Features: Features on board the GLA include connected car tech, 64-colour ambient lighting, wireless phone charging, a 10.25-inch touchscreen system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone climate control.

Safety: Passenger safety is ensured by seven airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP), and active brake assist.

Rivals: It fights it out with the BMW X1, Volvo XC40, Mini Cooper Countryman and 2022 Audi Q3.
