Upcoming new car launches in India in May 2024
They arrive with gusto. No, we’re not talking about May 2024’s scorching temperatures—rather, we’re talking about the cars that will hit the market later this month. Let’s examine the new vehicle introductions that are scheduled for May in more detail.
Maruti Suzuki started taking reservations for the new Swift earlier this week for Rs. 11,000 in price. A series of videos have teased the fourth-generation model, which will be released in India on May 9.
Leaked information indicates that a new 1.2-liter, three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine will power the 2024 Swift. It’s still unclear if this powertrain will come with a hybrid motor attached.

Force Gurkha 5 door
In advance of its price announcement, which is set for the first week of May, Force Motors unveiled the Gurkha 5 door in India last month. The company also used the event to introduce the updated Gurkha three-door model. To match the competition, the Gurkha receives additional creature comfort in addition to a minor design update. A 2.6-liter diesel engine with 138 horsepower and 320 Nm of tuning powers the vehicle.
2024 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross
Prices for the 2024 D-Max V-Cross, which start at Rs. 21.2 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), were officially announced by Isuzu. Compared to the outgoing car, the model gains a few minor feature additions and design changes. The same 1.9-liter diesel engine powers the pickup, which is mated to six-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmissions. Isuzu has also added the new Z Prestige variant to the lineup this time around.

Tata Nexon CNG
Earlier this year, Tata Motors displayed the Nexon iCNG at the Bharat Mobility Expo in India. With the launch of the CNG version, the Nexon will have the most powertrain options available. Currently, it is offered with gasoline, diesel, and electric powertrains. Other than the Maruti Brezza, none of the Nexon’s conventional competitors, including the Sonet, Venue, Kiger, and now the XUV 3XO, offer a CNG drivetrain; however, the Fronx and Taisor do have a CNG variant.
